Our work at the Engine Shed

The Engine Shed exists to ensure that the knowledge, skills and materials needed to care for Scotland’s traditional buildings and craft skills are sustained through learning and research.

Our specialists lead and support projects with partners from the heritage sector in Scotland, the UK, and internationally.

Our learning offer at the Engine Shed and our skills training centres aims to equip the sector with the skills needed to support the maintenance and adaptation of Scotland’s historic built environment. We deliver this through vocational training programmes and qualifications, plus professional upskilling and lifelong learning.
