The Engine Shed building is only open to the public during training and events. You can find our events and book a ticket in our What’s On section.
Alongside our public programme, we host a range of heritage sector events and training opportunities which welcome professional visitors and sector partners from Scotland, the UK, and internationally.
Stirling train stationis 150m from the Engine Shed. Step-free access to the bridge that crosses the railway tracks is provided by a lift at either end.
By bus
Stirling bus stationis 260m from the Engine Shed, on the other side of the railway tracks. Access is via a bridge that has a lift at either end.
By bicycle
We have a bike rack outside the front of the Engine Shed.
For blue badge holders, there are two accessible spaces facing the Engine Shed's entrance. These spaces are 55m to the main door and are located on the road that runs parallel to the railway line.
Forthside has a public car park and this is just 350m away:

APark and Rideservice, run by Stirling Council, stops near the Engine Shed.
The Engine Shed is 350m from Forthside car park close to Vue, along tarmac paths with some raised kerbs.
Visitors arriving from Stirling train station should turn left on exiting the station and cross a bridge that has a lift at either end to allow step-free access. The route to the Engine Shed is then about 150m long on level pavements with dropped kerb crossings.
Our main spaces
The Engine Shed entrance and its interior are on the level. There is an induction loop in the reception area and theatre.
Toilets
There is a fully accessible toilet near to the reception area.
We provide a ‘Keep Safe’ place to come to for anyone in the community who is feeling lost, frightened, distressed or who has been a victim of crime.
We are part of an established network of Keep Safe Places within communities across Scotland. All Keep Safe Premises are screened by Police Scotland and our trained staff are available to offer assistance.
The Engine Shed has a defibrillator located at the main reception. This is available to staff and members of the public only within Engine Shed working hours between 9am and 5pm.
