Event Description

Join us at the Engine Shed on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 October as we host a series of interactive work demonstrations for young people with an interest in entering the world of construction.

Please note, this event is nearly fully booked. To secure space on the last remaining session (3.00pm - 5.15pm on Thursday 5 October) please use the eventbrite booking link below.

The event is titled 'SCAPEing Out a World of Work Tasters!' and is being run in partnership with SCAPE Scotland, a public sector organisation dedicated to creating efficiency and social value via the built environment.

Together with SCAPE Scotland, their construction partners and with the support of Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), groups will experience six interactive work tasters during their session, which will last 2 hours 15 minutes.

As well as multiple hands-on experiences there will be the opportunity to speak with the people who do the jobs on a daily basis - see below for more information on these work tasters.

Activities will include:
  • Digital Den | Discover digital construction and technology’s place in the built environment
  • A Greener Future | Saving the planet and construction
  • Count On Us | Calculating the cost of construction
  • One Build At A Time| A hands on practical building workshop
