Event Description

Get creative with the Edinburgh Sketcher and improve your sketching skills.

Explore our building with sketchbooks in hand, using ink and watercolour to bring your visit to life. Either stop by during our drop in session, or book onto one of our workshops.

Use our new exhibition about the Scottish stonemasons who built the White House for inspiration. Create sketches of the famous Scottish Double Rose or other fascinating collections, with renowned illustrator Mark Kirkham, the Edinburgh Sketcher.

Learn techniques like shading and shadowing and discover how to bring 2D drawings to life on paper. You’ll learn ways to make your drawing jump off the page, add depth and make your design appear more 3D! 

We have four sessions happening between 10am and 3.45pm on this day:

No need to book for our drop in session:

  • 10am - 12pm

For the below sessions, please book in advance on Eventbrite using the link below:

  • 1pm - 1.45pm

  • 2pm - 2.45pm 

  • 3pm - 3.45pm

Additional information: Workshops suitable for ages 8+. Under 18's must be supervised by a parent/guardian.
