Short Guide 15: Air Source Heat Pumps in Traditional Buildings

This Short Guide provides information on the integration of air source heat pumps in traditional buildings. Air source heat pumps play an important role as part of the Scottish Government’s efforts to meet net zero carbon emissions targets. The guide emphasises the balance between preserving architectural heritage and adopting modern, sustainable heating technologies while demonstrating that air source heat pumps can work efficiently, even in buildings with high heat demand, when designed and specified well.
