Event Description

Scottish engineer James Watt powered the industrial revolution with his inventions and other works - especially his redesign of the steam engine. 

Watt was born in Greenock and you can find the James Watt Dock Crane, named after the engineer, in his hometown. 

Get inspired by this piece of industrial heritage and take part in our James Watt Crane engineering challenge. Can you use everyday materials to build a crane strong and steady enough to lift a weight?
