Event Description

Sunnybrae Cottage tells a story of how ordinary people lived over some 200 years. You can see what their rooms were like, how they kept warm and how they made a living here.

This important structure is under the care of Historic Environment Scotland (HES) and on this Insight Tour one of the architects that looks after this monument will talk about how it’s been conserved.

The cottage is one of the oldest buildings in Pitlochry. It has been subject to plenty of alterations and adaptations over the years. Its history reflects the prosperity and the development of this Highland town.

Hear about the life and evolution of Sunnybrae Cottage. Explore its rare surviving features, such as the thatch roof and cruck beams.

The Engine Shed is part of HES.
