Stirling train station is 150m from the Engine Shed. Step-free access to the bridge that crosses the railway tracks is provided by a lift at either end.

Stirling bus station is 260m from the Engine Shed, on the other side of the railway tracks. Access is via a bridge that has a lift at either end.

There is no guest parking at the Engine Shed.
For blue badge holders, there are two accessible spaces facing the Engine Shed's entrance. These spaces are 55m to the main door and are located on the road that runs parallel to the railway line.
Forthside has a public car park and this is just 350m away:
- It costs £2.10 for a full day if paying at the machine and £2.40 if paying via the Ringo app
- It has more than 20 accessible parking bays
- It has electric charging points
